350 NZ-Pacific Youth Climate Leadership Team

350.org is building a network of young Pacific leaders to educate and lead action on climate change.

There is a great urgency for young people to learn about the implications of climate change – it is the biggest challenge that faces the Pacific. With an extensive network of organisers that spans every Pacific Island nation, 350.org is now mobilising young Pacific people living in New Zealand.

This year 350.org is running the Pasifika Climate Leaders workshop in Fiji in June and will be taking a team of young Pacific people living in New Zealand to participate. The participants will then return and raise awareness about climate change in New Zealand Pacific communities, through events and initiatives.

Up to five people will be selected to be on the initial leadership team. The position is voluntary, and would require approximately 5 hours a week until at least October 2011. You will be given opportunities to attend workshops and other events where possible - giving you great experience and skills.

If you want to learn more about climate change, and then get involved in leading action in Pacific communities - then apply for this position today!

Please submit your application online here or contact aaron@350.org.nz if you'd like the 350.org team to come and present to your youth group etc.
